I shall play the mod and try to unlock the cars, and tracks, and even install some mods and cars too. I expect to be able to play all the cars and tracks available. I understand why game people do this, to increase the interest of the game, but it never increased MY interest. I have never been a fan of progressive-game-unlocks. However, I am slightly disappointed that you need to "unlock" the cars available for the mod. There is no variable weather, nor night racing and if it's just the cars you like, there's the GTL-GTR2 mod which gives you all the GTL cars in GTR2.Īfter a patch and update GT Legends is installed and working. If you don't like this, there is a simple "cheat" (doesn't even involve editing any files) which unlocks everything.

Initially I didn't like the arcade-like system of finishing challenge races to unlock new cars and tracks (at first you can only drive the Mini and Cortina on a few tracks) but the challenges are well designed to guide you through learning the pros and cons of each car and how to make use of its strengths to win. GTL is fun, and different enough from GTR2 or P&G to be worth the HD space it will eventually consume (add-on tracks, cars, mods, etc.). That said, I would suggest installing it, get the V1.1 patch (nogrip>gtl downloads>patches), and see how it works for you. Even when everything works normally, it can take a couple of minutes to complete the process (on my system it would hang most of the time and have to be shut down via task manager). I had major problems with the Starfarce protection (though others didn't) it is quite intrusive on your system, installing drivers which windows loads, then uses to verify the CD and the install before launching the program.
